THEMES: Perler (ironing) beads, childhood.
RATIONALE: The fonts I used for this advanced typography project are 04b 30 and Early Gameboy Regular. I decided to go for a more unique approach by making the beads individually and arrange them to fit in the letters of text. For the background, I used Procreate to draw it by hand and imported it on Illustrator. Lastly, I arranged the beads so they scatter around the edges as accents.
I chose to create this design because Perler beads are popular among children. As for the theme of childhood, I personally think that even when we grow up, you shouldn't throw away the child inside of us. I noticed that most people lose that magical spark in them once they reach adulthood, but I believe that's not the case for us artists. Life is messy, especially during our childhood, so the Perler beads represent the ups and downs of childhood.
